Overview:
Global macro diversified alternative investment manager is seeking a Quantitative Analyst with 1 to 5 years’ relevant experience to join the Americas team. The new hire will gain exposure to major Americas economies, including the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. The seniority of the role will be tailored to match the experience level of the new hire, and the role will report to our Chief Americas Economist in the New York office. The new hire will engage through regular meetings, presentations and exchanges of ideas to have impact on Portfolio Managers and the overall exposures of the Fund.
Responsibilities:
- The Americas team conducts analysis of macroeconomic data, political developments and geopolitical news in Americas economies, interprets their meaning for financial asset prices, and presents analysis and investment opportunities to the senior portfolio management team.
- The new hire will undertake technical project-based work focused on issues important to the Americas economies, and will be responsible for operating and enhancing the Americas team’s macroeconomic and financial models.
- Requires a strong technical and analytical skillset, with an ability to pivot between different projects or markets within the Americas.
- Involves data analysis, quantitative modelling, production of chartpacks, and tracking and forecasting of macroeconomic variables.
- Provide support to Chief Americas Economist on major projects and day-to-day analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or Economics; Master’s and/or PhD a plus.
- 1 to 5 years’ relevant experience working in industry; central banking experience a plus.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Comfortable voicing opinions and receiving feedback within a highly collaborative culture.
