Medical Director
Job Description
At ProHealth, we’re redefining the future of medical communications. We're passionate about the power of science, creativity, and connection — and we’re looking for a Medical Director to bring that passion to life.
As a Medical Director at ProHealth, you’ll go beyond just knowing the science — you'll use it to shape brand stories, uncover powerful insights, and drive meaningful client partnerships. You'll be the strategic linchpin between our scientific expertise and creative execution, helping ensure that everything we create is not only medically sound but also emotionally resonant and strategically impactful.
If you’re ready to flex your medical muscle in a vibrant, collaborative environment and help reimagine what’s possible in healthcare communications, this is your moment.
What You'll Do:
Knowledge/Expertise
- Develop and maintain a deep, nuanced understanding of assigned brands, therapeutic areas, and competitors.
- Critically review and guide content from internal teams, ensuring scientific and clinical accuracy, relevance, and strategic alignment.
Strategic Skills
- Interact with clients, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and internal teams to align science with brand objectives.
- Identify and champion medical insights that differentiate brands meaningfully and strategically.
- Contribute to and participate in proprietary strategic workshops and brainstorms.
Client Relationships
- Establish and nurture strong client partnerships, managing medically related client interactions independently once fully onboarded.
- Serve as a trusted scientific advisor, helping clients connect the dots between science, brand strategy, and market dynamics.
Communication/Selling Skills
- Help develop the communication or scientific platform for brands.
- Hone your presentation skills to clearly communicate complex medical concepts in an audience-friendly way — to clients, internal teams, and during new business pitches.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Work seamlessly across cross-functional teams, building open, collaborative relationships.
- Bring a proactive, solutions-driven mindset to every team meeting and project.
Creativity and Innovation
- Stay ahead of innovations in healthcare communications and marketing; think creatively about new ways to bring science to life.
- Conceptualize fresh programs and ideas that inspire engagement and action.
Leadership and Mentorship
- Provide oversight, training, and development for direct reports.
- Guide copywriters, medical writers, and junior team members in delivering scientifically accurate and strategically aligned content.
You'll Bring:
- Advanced degree (MS, MPH, PharmD, MD, PhD) in a clinical or scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in medical communications, healthcare marketing, or a related field.
- Mastery of core Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) — including Excel functions like VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strategic thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for clear, compelling scientific storytelling.
- Ability to work collaboratively, think creatively, and act proactively.
- Strong interest in continuing to develop leadership skills.

We celebrate collaboration, curiosity, and authenticity — and we're proud to be part of the IPG Health network, the world’s most interconnected healthcare communications collective.
