About the Role: We’re seeking a Quality Control Engineer to join our team, working on transformers and power supplies designed for military and industrial use. In this role, you’ll ensure the quality and reliability of our products through the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective quality control processes. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define quality requirements, establish inspection criteria, and lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement. Your technical expertise, analytical skills, and attention to detail will help ensure we deliver top-tier products that protect military personnel and meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement processes for handling discrepant materials, assessing costs, and determining responsibilities.

Analyze statistical data and specifications to assess current product standards and define quality expectations for finished products.

Create and implement quality control plans, procedures, and inspection protocols to ensure products meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Conduct root cause analyses of quality issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.

Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to define quality requirements, establish critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics, and validate product designs and processes.

Design and execute statistical process control (SPC) studies, capability analyses, and process audits to monitor and improve process stability and performance.

Lead failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), risk assessments, and design of experiments (DOE) to identify and mitigate potential failure modes.

Develop and maintain inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation in compliance with quality management system (QMS) requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).

Utilize quality tools like Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing to analyze data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Provide training and guidance to production and quality teams on best practices in quality control.

Engage in supplier quality management activities, including audits, corrective actions, and supplier development to ensure the quality of incoming materials.

Assist in customer audits and inquiries regarding quality control processes, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
-
At least 4 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a military product environment.

Previous experience in equipment repair or QC roles within the US military or military contracting/manufacturing is a plus.

U.S. citizen with the ability to secure a U.S. Government security clearance; must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-controlled data.

Ability to perform essential functions, including standing, walking, sitting, using hands, lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.

Ability to work in a moderate noise environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program or as a Naval Electrical Operator or Reactor Operator.

Background in manufacturing or production environments supporting military or industrial products.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.

Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted hours as needed to meet production demands.

Lean Six Sigma experience.
