Armstrong has an opening for a Plastics Finisher on first shift. Armstrong Rapid Manufacturing has been in business for over 50 years in the East Syracuse NY area. Armstrong specializes in both prototyped and low volume production machined castings. The Salary Range for our Plastics Finisher job is $16.00-$18.00 per hour. Refer to the job description below:
Summary/Objective: Finishes molded parts to customer specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Mix filler and hardener per instructions.
- Inspect parts and fill voids.
- Using sandpaper, straight drill, and sander, finish parts per job instructions.
- Verify counts, scan job traveler, and route to the next location.
- Meet quality and quantity standards for the position.
- Proactively supports the ISO process approach to quality management and the Syteline MIS system.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment, and practices good housekeeping.
- Maintains regular on-time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Applies classroom and on the job post training information, knowledge, skills, and abilities consistently in a quality-oriented manner (wherein the KSAs are part of the jobs tasks, duties and other tasks as requested).
- Performs other tasks as directed.
Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent with manual dexterity. 6 months' experience in a surface finishing function preferable.
- Ability to read job travelers/job specification.
- Strong attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended time periods, reach and grasp parts/hand tools and lift up to and including 35 pounds as needed.
