Job Description

Job Details
• Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
• Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration before patient studies.
• Injects patients with radioactive material as per physician’s order following prescribed protocol.
• Observes all department documentation policies by filling in appropriate logs, manuals, charge documents, and reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
• Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests following radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.
• Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
• Receives radiopharmaceutical on day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure.
• Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration.

Additional Details
• Performs CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
• Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
