Job Title: Construction Superintendent – Heavy Civil Infrastructure
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY
Salary Range: $160,000–$220,000
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are conducting a search on behalf of our client for an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee a high-profile heavy civil infrastructure project in Midtown Manhattan. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of large-scale construction operations, strong leadership capabilities, and a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role on a $300M+ infrastructure project that will significantly impact New York City’s built environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all phases of on-site construction to ensure adherence to design specifications, budget constraints, and schedule milestones
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily site operations, including scheduling, logistics, and subcontractor management
  • Ensure all work performed meets contractual obligations and safety standards
  • Provide technical support, including interpretation of drawings and recommendations for construction methods and equipment
  • Collaborate with project management to develop schedules, site logistics plans, and execution strategies
  • Enforce the Site-Specific Safety Plan and contribute to a culture of safety excellence
  • Serve as a key point of contact for owner representatives and on-site stakeholders
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required by project leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of field supervision experience on large-scale ($300M+) heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • At least 10 years of superintendent or craft supervision experience in new construction, including foundation work, concrete, structural steel, and complex mechanical installations
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. construction methods, safety protocols, and industry best practices
  • Experience working with municipal, state, and federal agencies is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, and Procore (or equivalent)
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid certifications required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong familiarity with union environments and local labor requirements in the NYC area
