Title: Organizer Training & Event Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Event Coordination Team
Location: Remote
Status: Full time requiring flexible hours to work some evenings and weekends
Role Overview:
The Training & Event Coordinator spends 60% of their time developing and executing training and support programs for volunteers organizing events in the field and 40% organizing assigned events. Responsibilities include organizing, executing and managing events held remotely for local chapters or a national audience. Availability for evening and weekend events is a must. This role requires a combination of creativity, organization and people skills. This role must plan, execute and evaluate various programs.
Training Responsibilities – 60% of focus:

Onboarding & Support
Oversee an onboarding process to take volunteer field organizers through a successful process from initial application (start) to training completion (certification and successfully handling field events). Connect volunteers with current Braver Angels activity and support in their area. Provide ongoing support for handling events.

Training & Program Development
Oversee the effective execution of the remote field organizer training program. Develop successful training modules, set learning objectives, and provide instructional materials. Keep training materials current, including best practices, and technology. Assess the effectiveness of the onboarding and training program.

Ongoing Support & Communication
Coordinate “staffing” and activities needed for successfully supporting the Help Desk function. Provide a regular Field Organizers forum and assist with the newsletter. As new events, workshops & programs are launched, keep relevant teams informed and proactively share training updates with key stakeholders.

Technology Interface
Work closely with identified resources for Eventbrite template creation, uniformity, and updating. Interact proactively with the Tech Team on tools utilized or identified as needed for the Event Coordination Team. Function as the interface between national, remote and field event teams and the Tech Team on tools such as: Eventbrite, ETS, website registration & email notification, data tracking dashboards.

Event Responsibilities – 40% of focus:

Registration: Oversee the registration process, usually through Eventbrite, using templates to ensure the event listing is user-friendly and registration data is properly gathered. Track attendance, and upload into Eventbrite for transfer to Action Network.

Event execution: Set up dry-runs with the event team. Ensuring the event runs smoothly and according to plan.

Evaluations & data analysis: Identify and employ the appropriate evaluation for the event and conduct a team debrief after the event. Analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement and review evaluation results with appropriate team members.
