Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director Clinical Services / LCSW to join our organization and provide oversight and strategic guidance to all of the programmatic service delivery in our four shelter programs (one in Manhattan, two in Brooklyn and One in Queens).
The Director will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s mission and vision by overseeing a minimum of five LMSWs, , ensuring collaboration among staff, establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with community based organization in areas such as workforce development, education, childcare, health care, and immigrant legal services. The director will play a leading role in designing the organization’s social services approach, with an emphasis on a client-centered, trauma-informed care approach, and implementation of evidence based practices such as Motivational Interviewing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Program Directors in the overall management of their programs by providing leadership and creating a program culture that is person-centered, and committed to continuous improvement in quality and outcomes.
- Plan, schedule, organize and direct the delivery of all social services, including Case Management, Housing Placement, Child Care, after school and Recreation programming.
- Supervise LMSW Clinical Supervisors
- Provide coaching, training and staff development to the Social Service Team
- Ensure that services meet contractual and regulatory requirements of NYC DHS and NYS OTDA
- Interface with NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) and NYC Department of Education on child abuse prevention and public school related issues. Provide information to ACS as a mandated reporter
- Review admissions and intake screenings and service plans
- Through audits, and other methods, ensure that records are kept in compliance with DHS and OTDA standards and expectations
- Conduct utilization reviews and case conferences to increase rate of permanent housing placements
- Develop crisis intervention protocols
- Oversee and monitor incident management and crisis intervention by using root cause analysis and other techniques to reduce risks and preventable negative incidents
- Develop and ensure linkages with housing, medical, behavioral health, public benefits, employment, childcare, education, legal and other community-based services and providers.
- Oversee completion of psychiatric evaluations for 2010e housing applications
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- NY State Licensed Clinical Master Social Worker and at least three years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in meeting the needs of homeless families, including knowledge of housing, education, child welfare, domestic violence, and behavioral health services and systems
- Experience working with diverse communities, including immigrants
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
