This position supports a federal-focused general contractor delivering construction projects across secure and mission-critical facilities nationwide. The organization operates with a small, experienced team, allowing field leaders to stay close to decisions, work directly with ownership, and avoid the bureaucracy common with large prime contractors.

Projects include facility upgrades, renovations, utility infrastructure, and electrical improvements that support public infrastructure and national operations. The company offers long-term stability and a consistent federal project pipeline.

This role is ideal for a Federal Quality Control Manager who values accountability, structure, and meaningful project work.

Position Overview

The Federal Quality Control Manager will serve as the on-site authority for quality control, ensuring all work complies with contract documents, USACE standards, and applicable federal regulations. Assignments will be based on current and upcoming projects in Great Lakes, IL and New York, NY.

Travel packages and relocation assistance are available for qualified out-of-state candidates.

Project Environment and Exposure

Current and upcoming projects may include:

  • Exterior building envelope upgrades such as masonry, panels, and waterproofing
  • Interior renovations and phased construction in controlled or occupied facilities
  • Underground utilities including sanitary and storm sewer systems
  • Electrical infrastructure including underground feeders and medium and high voltage systems
  • Coordination with hazardous materials, inspections, testing, and secure site requirements

This role provides exposure to both vertical and civil scopes within the federal construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage the USACE Three-Phase Quality Control System
  • Review drawings, submittals, and specifications for contract compliance
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections
  • Maintain daily QC reports, logs, and testing documentation
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, inspectors, and federal representatives
  • Identify non-conforming work and ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Support work performed in active, occupied, or secure facilities

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of federal construction experience in a QCM, Superintendent, or similar role
  • USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety certification
  • Strong knowledge of federal QA and QC processes and documentation
  • Experience across building, utility, or infrastructure scopes
  • Ability to work in secure or mission-critical environments
