Our company is a rapidly growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider located in the heart of Mineola, NY. We are committed to delivering high-quality medical equipment and superior service to patients, attorneys, and healthcare providers. As we expand, we are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team.
Position Summary
We are looking for a reliable and driven Medical Supply Office Assistant Manager to support our daily operations. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in data entry & medical billing, medical verification, coordinations with law offices, possess excellent organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for DME claims with various insurance carriers
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into medical billing software
- Submit and follow up on medical claims and billing inquiries
- Scan, print, review and address the correspondence received from insurance companies and company attorney
- Upload documentation to billing systems and maintain electronic patient records and confidentiality related to HIPAA
- Coordinate logistics with third-party delivery service to ensure timely equipment delivery; answer their calls for failed delivery attempts and communicate directly with patients to maximize efficiency of DME delivery. Package DME items for delivery and schedule pick ups with the delivery company.
- Communicate professionally with patients’ attorneys and our internal legal team
- Assist with general administrative office tasks and documentation management
- Run inventory records and patient records in Google doc
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical billing or a healthcare administrative setting strongly preferred
- Operate as an office manager, having the ability to keep things up to speed, be on top of all emails and make independent decisions
- Proficiency with medical billing software and general office technology
- Exceptional attention to detail and prioritization skills
- Ability to multitask, organize your day, and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fast and accurate typing skills
- Positive, “can-do” attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
Working Conditions
- Full time / 40 hours/week or less (up for discussion)
- On-site position at our cozy Mineola, NY office
- Hourly wage commensurate with experience
