Position: Document Processing Specialist (National Law Firm)

Location: Garden City, NY

Comp Package: Base up to $90K, Paid Overtime, Bonus, Full Benefits, 401K+, etc.

The Document Processing Specialist will be a key member of the team, responsible for producing high-quality legal documents and training employees on new software and processes. This role provides the chance to contribute meaningfully in a professional, team-oriented setting while supporting attorneys and staff across the firm.


Responsibilities for Document Processing Specialist:

  • Lead training sessions for employees on new software, tools, and workflow processes to ensure team proficiency and adoption
  • Produce, edit, format, and revise complex legal documents, including blacklines
  • Convert documents to Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint as required
  • Proofread documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards
  • Provide at-desk or remote support to attorneys and staff
  • Communicate effectively with lawyers and supervisors regarding tasks, instructions, and deadlines
  • Assist in developing and maintaining documentation and materials for departmental training programs


Requirements for Document Processing Specialist:

  • 4+ years of experience as a word processor in a law firm environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Experience training or mentoring employees on new software, systems, or processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional demeanor with attorneys, staff, and clients
  • Capable of working independently and making well-thought-out decisions with minimal supervision
  • Typing speed of 55 WPM or higher
