Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled registered nurse with critical care experience is needed to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a specialized Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU) setting. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations experiencing neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in New York State
  • Minimum of 2 years in an IMCU or Progressive Care Unit with travel experience preferred
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required
  • Proficient in using EPIC electronic medical records system
  • Experience managing advanced specialty equipment: temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, Neptune systems, and ventilators
  • Valid drivers license matching demographic requirements
  • Ability to float between different units as needed
  • Documentation and verification of licensure and RTO submission required at application

Location:
Position is based in New Hartford, New York, a community offering a balance of suburban comfort and easy access to cultural and recreational amenities. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient-centered care to adults aged 18 and above on a 64-bed unit, including 15 neuro-designated beds
  • Monitor complex cases including neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and postoperative care
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary teams to manage ventilator-dependent patients
  • Operate specialized equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in unit-based floating assignments

Schedule:

  • Shift hours: 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed
