Rosenberg Law Group, PLLC, a leading New York-based real estate law firm, is seeking a talented Tax Certiorari & Real Estate Transaction Paralegal to join our team. This full-time position is ideal for a paralegal with experience supporting attorneys in property tax assessment reductions (Tax Grievances) and real estate transactional matters.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have experience assisting in both Tax Certiorari (property tax grievances) and real estate transactional law. You will support attorneys in managing a diverse caseload involving property tax assessment challenges, contract preparation, due diligence, and real estate closings.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Certiorari / Grievance Support

Prepare and file property tax grievance submissions, including ARC filings and SCAR hearing documentation.
Organize and maintain case files, petitions, legal memoranda, and supporting evidence.
Assist attorneys in negotiations with assessors and municipal officials.
Conduct research on property valuations, assessments, and municipal procedures.
Coordinate SCAR and Supreme Court Tax Certiorari proceedings logistics.

Real Estate Transaction Support

Draft initial versions of contracts of sale, leases, and closing documents.
Manage title review, due diligence materials, and closing checklists.
Communicate with clients, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel.
Coordinate closing schedules and prepare closing binders.
Ensure compliance with New York State and local real estate regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification (preferred).
2–4 years of experience as a paralegal in Tax Certiorari / Grievance matters or real estate transactions.
Knowledge of New York property tax law (RPTL) and real estate practices strongly preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
Excellent legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software.
Detail-oriented with strong communication and client service skills.
