Job Title: Classroom Teacher
Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, the Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of children in their assigned classroom. The teacher will collaborate with the Lead Teacher, Teaching Assistant, and Administrative Staff to develop and implement creative lesson plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive to work, meetings, and trainings on time
- Develop, present, and evaluate appropriate lesson plans
- Supervise all classroom and daily routine activities
- Assist Lead Teacher and Teaching Assistant in all daily preparation work and clean-up
- Submit supply requests as needed

- Experience in lesson planning and classroom management
- Knowledge of child development principles

Requirements:Education, Experience, Training Requirements:
- CDA, Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Early Childhood or related field.
- Minimum of 3 months paid or volunteer experience in a childcare setting.
- Understanding of child developmental stages.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (required within first 6 months).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, and squatting to engage with children at their level.
- Ability to lift 35–40 lbs, push/pull strollers or cribs, and carry classroom materials.
- Must walk and lead children on field trips and outings.
- Read written materials for classroom and administrative needs.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff both verbally and in writing.
- Supervise children in various indoor/outdoor environments and weather conditions.
Programming and Compliance Requirements
- Knowledge of NYS Licensing Regulations and NAEYC accreditation standards.
- Arrange classroom environments to meet ITERS and ECERS quality standards.
- Promote inclusion, tolerance, and social responsibility using multicultural and anti-bias practices.
- Plan and organize field trips and community collaborations, ensuring child safety.

- Open Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM (closed on designated holidays)
