This contract position calls for a detail-oriented individual proficient in using radiologic equipment to capture high-quality images of patients bones, tissues, and organs according to physicians orders. The role requires a commitment to patient care, safety, and collaboration within a clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and review physicians orders before initiating X-ray procedures
- Operate X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images adhering to safety protocols
- Position and assist patients, including those with limited mobility, ensuring comfort and proper imaging
- Explain procedures clearly and answer patient questions with compassion and clarity
- Maintain accurate records by ensuring images are correctly labeled and sent to imaging systems
- Report any equipment malfunctions promptly to management
- Utilize electronic patient information systems efficiently, following dual patient identification standards
- Adapt imaging techniques to meet age-specific patient needs and maintain low radiation exposure
- Respond to on-call shifts within 30 minutes as needed
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Completed formal education from an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- New York State licensure or ability to obtain prior to starting
- Minimum two years of X-ray technologist experience, including level 1 trauma center exposure
- Recent experience with c-arm or o-arm equipment within the past eight months
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Physical ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Patient-focused demeanor with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
