Job Description

E.S. Systems, is a complete Mechanical Contractor, founded in 1978. We perform work in Plumbing, HVAC and Fire Protection. Our service technicians are kept up to date on the latest technology in heat pumps, boilers, roof top equipment, air conditioning and sprinkler systems and equipment. Due to current, as well as projected growth, we are seeking an experienced, well-rounded Service Technician to join our Rochester based team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned):

30% Sprinkler Inspections – Inspect all types of wet and dry sprinkler systems. Fully complete all inspection forms. As needed, call to schedule inspections.
20% Repair Work – Repair various problems with sprinkler systems. Address and repair plumbing issues. Address and repair HVAC system issues. Fully complete work orders.
20% Testing – Perform tests on back flow devices., fire pumps and sprinkler systems. Fully complete all necessary test paperwork.
20% Installations – Install sprinkler systems, plumbing components and HVAC systems. Fully complete all necessary installation paperwork.
5% Preventative Maintenance – Clean, change filters, change belts and test the operation of HVAC systems. Fully complete all necessary preventative maintenance paperwork.
5% Snake Sewers – Use snaking equip

Minimum Qualification Standards:

High School Diploma or GED required. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
Vocational or technical training in the fields of sprinkler, plumbing and HVAC systems preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in sprinkler systems required.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in plumbing systems required.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC systems required.
Reliable transportation and a valid NYS drivers’ license free from major infractions required.
10- hour OSHA safety certificate required, 30-hour OSHA safety certificate desirable, backflow and refrigerant certifications desirable, NICET certification for sprinkler system inspection & testing preferred.
Overtime, weekend, and on-call work may be required as needed.

Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Ability to read and interpret paperwork.
Ability to perform basic computer/ computer software functions (basic word processing, bookkeeping, data entry). Send/retrieve email messages, post information into databases/ spreadsheets. Comfortable with computers and computer technologies.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to read and understand basic blueprints.
Ability to recognize safety hazards and perform such work in a manner that minimizes or eliminates those hazards.
Ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed accurately and efficiently to prevent injury to staff and damage to equipment.
Must have knowledge of basic math and reading skills
