Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate various metalworking machines such as CNC and/or manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Interpret engineering drawings to verify part specifications.
- Use micrometers and calipers to ensure that parts conform to design specifications and quality standards.
- Follow safety practices to protect oneself and others from hazards.
- Adhere to work order routings, managing time efficiently to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
- Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Collaborate with team members and departments to optimize workflow and drive continuous improvement.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure accuracy and longevity.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Document processes and results, providing detailed reports for quality assurance and production management.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of machinist experience and/or relevant technical degree, with strong independent work and troubleshooting skills.
- Essential ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Skilled in maintaining tight tolerances.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools.
- Knowledgeable and adherent to safety protocols and best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with proven collaboration with co-workers and management.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and innovation to optimize machining processes and enhance product quality.
- Commitment to continuous learning and skills development to keep up with technological advances in machining and manufacturing.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment and parts weighing up to 50lbs. Must be able to operate magnetic hoists and overhead cranes. Must have the ability to operate machinery, hand tools, and various measuring tools. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (2-3 hours minimum). Must be able to ascend and descend from different work surfaces.
