Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Director to oversee the operations, maintenance, and safety of multiple sites. The ideal candidate will ensure that all locations are efficient, well-maintained, compliant with health and safety standards, and provide a great environment for employees and visitors. You’ll be managing vendor relationships, leading maintenance teams, and developing and implementing strategic improvements across all facilities.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)


Facilities Operations & Maintenance

  • Manage the operations, maintenance, and repair activities of current properties.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure buildings and campuses meet company standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs tailored to building systems.
  • Manage warranties, service agreements, and maintenance logs for facility equipment and systems.
  • Monitor building performance and recommend efficiency or sustainability improvements over time.

Vendor, Contract & Budget Management

  • Oversee vendor contracts and building service agreements.
  • Establish and manage service contracts including cleaning, security, landscaping, and mechanical systems.
  • Manage facilities budgets, expenses, and capital improvements.

Compliance, Systems & Staff Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, laws, and safety regulations.
  • Set up building management systems, emergency protocols, and operational best practices.
  • Supervise facility specific staff

Project Delivery & Stakeholder Support

  • Act as the primary liaison for all building maintenance activities, ensuring prompt resolution of facility issues and effective coordination with tenants.
  • Respond to tenant service requests and inquiries, delivering timely and reliable support to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Coordinate with facilities vendors and contractors to oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects.
  • Monitor and track facility-related service tickets to ensure quality control, timely resolution, and clear tenant communication.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service requests, maintenance schedules, and vendor performance metrics.

Requirements:


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of facilities management or property management experience.
  • Well-versed in the operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and wastewater systems.
  • Experience managing new facilities is preferred.
  • Collaborates on budgeting, managing vendors, and negotiating contracts to support operational goals
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. However, we are open to considering relevant experience in lieu of formal education.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will oversee other facilities staff at all sites.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. but may require after work or weekend hours depending on need.


Travel

Some travel between sites will be required.

  • Basic computer skills that include the ability to post information to a database or spreadsheet and perform basic word processing and/or data entry.
  • Able to plan, allocate resources, manage production and coordinate people and equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general building maintenance and repair skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Able to organize tasks and set priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.
  • Knowledge of facilities services including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, utility operations, building maintenance, carpentry and finish work.
  • Skilled in using a variety of hand and light power tools for repair and upkeep duties.


Physical and Mental Requirements:


  • Duties can be physically demanding and repetitive, involving much bending and lifting. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, use hands to finger and grasp, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions. The individual is occasionally required to climb, balance, and crawl.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Requires strong focus and hand-eye coordination to operate tools or processes that demand precise control and quick adjustments.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment on a regular basis including, glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and gloves.


Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this position, the worker is exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, cold, potential for physical injury, fumes, strong odors or airborne particles and occupational hazards which require routine precautions.
