Pay Details:
Pay Range Local - Travel: $2400 - $2900 (37.5 hrs/week)

Job Overview:

A Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering compassionate, specialized care to patients undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. This role involves assessing patients, providing education and emotional support, managing side effects, and coordinating care with the oncology team to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery. The RN serves as a key advocate for the patient throughout their cancer journey, helping them navigate the complexities of radiation treatment and overall care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess patients’ physical and emotional status before, during, and after radiation therapy.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Manage and report side effects of radiation (e.g., skin reactions, fatigue, nausea).
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
  • Assist during procedures, ensure safety protocols, and verify treatment accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment progress notes.
  • Provide counseling and support to help patients cope with their cancer journey.

Required Qualifications:

  • NYS RN License
  • 2 years -Oncology experience
  • BLS (AHA), ACLS(AHA)
  • COVID card
