ummary

Senior Environment Specialist Level 1 supports Project Management for permitting/design and construction projects/programs. They prepare regulatory permit requests, perform data analytics and discipline-related research, and perform testing related to their discipline.

Responsibilities

Involved with supporting field efforts, supporting air/noise/wetlands/archaeology/historic infrastructure/asbestos & lead abatement/hazardous material categorization & disposal.

Attends meetings and assists in developing a tracking system to manage assignments.

Distributes notes per project requirements.

Applies MTA C&D quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project document management.

Prepare reports and permit documents.

Works with GIS support to communicate any updates.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's in Environmental Science/Environmental Technology/Environmental Management /Archaeology / Anthropology /Biology /Wildlife or an equivalent subject.

Masters preferred.

Various disciplines may be (but are not limited to) historic preservation and culture, as well as environmental resources, asbestos, lead, and hazardous materials.

Must have a minimum of six (6) years of related experience.

Must have a minimum of two (2) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.

Competencies:

CEP-IT certification is desirable.

Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information.

Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Proficiency in current industry software is required.

Experience visiting the field for initial scope/survey and construction oversight preferred.
