Our client is an established, privately held, growing, government contractor. Our client’s focus is on providing Information Technology (IT) Services to city, state and federal government clients. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CADD Specialist for a short-term project opportunity to provide CADD support for a large scale project at an onsite client location in Manhattan, New York City / Newark, New Jersey.
Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the CADD Specialist will bolster and contribute to the project’s ongoing design efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BIM modeling, experience using Bentley Systems’ OpenBuilding and MicroStation CAD software and an understanding of Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Work closely with engineers and architects to understand design requirements, ensure designs meet project specifications and standards and deliver high-quality CADD deliverables. Provide expert CADD support to project team architects and engineer.
- Participate in design reviews and quality checks to ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of CADD deliverables.
- Create and modify detailed BIM models using Bentley OpenBuildings software. Utilize experience in Bentley OpenBuildings for efficient and accurate BIM modeling.
- Create and modify detailed technical drawings and 3D models using Bentley MicroStation for CAD drafting, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Manage and maintain well-organized and accessible project files and documentation, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.
- Apply a thorough understanding of MTA standards throughout the design and documentation process.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field, with a strong background in design and drafting.
- 3+ years of CADD and BIM modeling experience. Demonstrated expertise in Bentley OpenBuildings and MicroStation CAD software, including BIM modeling capabilities
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the practical application of MTA CADD standards is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Organized with a demonstrated ability to maintain organized and efficient project files.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective problem-solving and relationship-management skills. Prior experience collaborating closely with users, clients and stakeholders to meet CADD deliverables.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with users, clients, team members, technical staff, and management.

- Must be able to pass a required background check and/or security clearance to work on government projects.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The company will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this job at this time.
POSITION LOCATION:
Onsite-based role in New York, NY / New Jersey. Must be able to commute daily to New York City.
TEAM RESPONSIBILITY:
Provide critical support to the CADD Project team. Collaborate with internal team members, users, clients and partners. Mentor team members.

RELOCATION ELIGIBILITY:
No relocation assistance provided. Local, qualified New York City metro area candidates will be given preference and priority. Qualified candidates willing to self-relocate to the New York City metro area will also be considered.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INFORMATION:
- Hourly Rate: $30 - $40 / hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications
