As a Medical Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting doctors by performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. Your responsibilities will include providing essential patient care assistance, greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. You will also assist physicians with procedures, document medical history and case notes, relay instructions from the physician to patients, and collect patient data in person and by phone.
Responsibilities
- Document vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes.
- Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.
- Collect and document patient data and concerns.
- Accurately document medical information in patient records.
- Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review.
- Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate.
- Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education.
- Perform triage as appropriate and directed by physician/nurse practitioner.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Use electronic health record proficiently for daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.
- Process orders appropriately.
Essential Skills
- 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- Proficiency in electronic health records
- Knowledge of medical assisting and patient care
- Basic computer skills
- Experience in phlebotomy
Work Environment
The position is based in a busy urgent care setting, with the facility handling 50-100 patients a day. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. This opportunity offers room for growth within the company and the chance to work overtime within different specialties.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
