Structural Engineer Job Description

Responsibilities:

Design and analyze structures made of steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, and wood, following building codes and standards.

Conduct structural condition assessments of buildings and parking structures, preparing detailed engineering reports.

Collaborate with project teams to develop contract documents and technical specifications.

Prepare clear and organized engineering calculations.

Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.

Provide support during construction phases, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.

Develop cost estimates for structural work.

Review work prepared by junior engineers and ensure quality control.

Mentor and guide junior engineers, interns, and designers.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.

Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Minimum 4 years of experience in structural engineering and building design.

Strong understanding of building codes and design standards.

Experience with structural analysis software.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Valid driver’s license required.
