About Us:
We are a newly established, high-quality childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive. Our programs are designed to support each child’s growth in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team and help shape the foundation of our program.
Position Summary:
The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with NYS OCFS regulations and early childhood best practices. This role requires a warm, enthusiastic, and organized educator who can foster a positive classroom environment, guide assistant staff, and partner with families to support each child’s learning journey.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement daily lesson plans and activities that promote children’s learning and development.
- Ensure all classroom practices comply with NYS OCFS regulations and center policies.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where children feel valued and supported.
- Observe, document, and assess children’s progress; communicate findings with families and the Director.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to assistant teachers/aides.
- Establish positive relationships with families, keeping them informed and engaged in their child’s growth.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom, following health and safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and required OCFS trainings.
Qualifications:

Must meet NYS OCFS requirements for Lead Teacher in a preschool classroom (one of the following):

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, OR
-
CDA (Child Development Associate) credential with relevant experience, OR
-
Equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by OCFS.

- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children required; lead teacher or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and classroom management.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment.
