Major HVAC company is seeking a Head of Drafting - HVAC Contractor to join their team.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC drafting or a related role
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and familiarity with drafting standards
• Understanding of HVAC systems, load calculations, and design principles
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Responsibilities

• As an HVAC Drafter, you will be responsible for creating accurate and comprehensive drawings that will guide the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems
• Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency and performance of our projects, ensuring that our designs meet client needs and adhere to industry standards
• Collaborating closely with engineers and project managers, you'll have the opportunity to put your skills into action and see your designs come to life!
• Prepare detailed 2D & 3D HVAC drawings and specifications using CAD software based on project requirements
• Prepare project submittals, cut sheets, details, specifications
• BIM Coordinations
• Collaborate with engineers to understand design intentions and incorporate feedback into draft plans
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards
• Create and maintain records of revisions and changes to drawings
• Assist in performing engineering calculations for system sizing and performance
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and clients
• Stay informed about advancements in HVAC design technologies and drafting software
