Hartman Enterprises, Inc., a precision CNC machining company, is seeking a quality inspector to join our team. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Reports To: Quality Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: 8-hour shift, Day Shift
Work Location: On-site, Oneida, NY
Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying that finished goods and materials meet engineering specifications and customer requirements. This role includes inspection at various stages of production, ensuring the accuracy of gaging tools, and maintaining proper documentation of findings. The inspector is empowered to accept, reject, or place items on hold per company procedures and must be able to communicate results clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts.
- Review incoming material certifications for conformity.
- Document inspection results and report nonconformance
- Issue and monitor the calibration of gauges and measurement tools
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Assist in training on blueprint reading and gauge use.
Required Skills:
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong math skills (basic geometry and algebra)
- Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T
- Able to use micrometers, calipers, indicators, and comparators
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Effective communication and professionalism in the workplace
Desirable (Preferred) Skills:
- Trigonometry and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experience with Keyence, OGP Flash, and Zeiss Calypso systems
- Familiarity with AS9102, PPAP, and High QA
- Ability to perform internal calibrations and prioritize tasks
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- 2–4 years of related quality inspection experience or equivalent
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision.
Work Environment:
Exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, and occasional outdoor elements. Safety precautions must be followed at all times.
