We are currently seeking full-time and part-time Physical Therapists (PT) interested in providing school-based therapy services to students being served by Garden City School District. Therapists are responsible for organizing and educating students and providing Physical Therapy as outlined in laws and policies. Responsibilities include: planning and designing student’s Physical Therapy program, consistent with the total educational goals of the students. Participating in educational meetings, IEP planning & documentation, visiting related facilities, reading professional literature, and exchanging ideas with school staff.
Salary: $75 - $80/hour
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Must have a valid professional license and registration for the state of New York
- A team player, eager to collaborate and coordinate with DOE staff and parents
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of relevant clinical services.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess patients' physical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Provide hands-on therapy, exercises, and techniques to improve patients' mobility, strength, and function
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for managing their conditions and preventing further injury
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Experience:
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to create personalized treatment plans based on individual patient needs
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in patient care and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Empathy and compassion to provide emotional support to patients during their rehabilitation journey
- Strong organizational skills to manage a caseload of patients and maintain accurate documentation
