General Manager – New York City
Location: New York City, NY
Reports to: VP of Operations
Salary Range: $125,000–$150,000
Overview
A fast-growing, multi-unit organization is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to oversee and elevate its Flagship Private members club. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing performance across the unit, and supporting continued growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this leader will play a critical role in setting operational strategy, developing teams, and ensuring consistency, efficiency, and driving the business
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with overall business goals
- Partner with senior leadership to align on objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and profitability
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop operational leaders and teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, respect, and operational excellence
- Ensure strong training, development, and performance management systems are in place
Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings, and workflow improvements
- Implement systems, tools, and processes that drive consistency and scalability
- Establish, track, and act on KPIs to ensure operational success
Financial Oversight
- Oversee operational budgets and resource allocation across NYC businesses
- Analyze financial performance and partner cross-functionally to improve margins and cost effectiveness
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure operations comply with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Develop and enforce policies to mitigate risk and support operational continuity
Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on performance, initiatives, and challenges
- Prepare operational reports, insights, and recommendations for executive review
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience managing large teams and multi-unit operations
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and performance analysis
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, NYC-based environment preferred
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management
