Job Description

Metro is looking for a motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to provide coverage for our outpatient facilities on a per diem basis, with opportunities throughout Nassau County. Come be a part of a growing organization in a progressive, supportive, and innovative team!

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide one-on-one treatment
  • Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of occupational treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent occupational dysfunction in patients.
  • Custom Splint Fabrication for Patients
  • Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
  • Develop and guide plans of care which encourage compliance and produce the best results for your patients.
  • Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Must be willing to treat all ages and have sensory integration experience.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapist Program Graduate
  • NYS Occupational Therapy License or eligible
  • Certifications Required: CPR/First Aid
  • Outpatient experience preferred
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Sensory integration experience a plus
