Schedule: 2–3 days per week (flexible); possible weekend coverage

Compensation

Traveler Rate: $80/hour

Local Rate: $70/hour
Position Summary
The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating and preparing MRI equipment to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to patient safety, and adherence to established imaging protocols while collaborating closely with radiologists and clinical staff in a hospital-based environment.
Responsibilities

Perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with written protocols and patient needs

Position patients and MRI coils to obtain optimal diagnostic images

Educate patients on procedures, expectations, and MRI safety requirements

Review and verify MRI safety questionnaires prior to scanning

Ensure MRI images are accurately labeled and transmitted to PACS in a timely manner

Complete and document all studies in IDX (Radiology Information System) accurately and promptly
-
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the MRI suite and equipment
-
Scan, organize, and manage patient-related documentation
-
Maintain adequate inventory of MRI supplies and accessories

Assist physicians during imaging procedures as needed

Strictly adhere to MRI safety standards to prevent ferromagnetic incidents

Follow infection control policies and departmental safety protocols

Attend required in-services, training, and professional development sessions

Perform clerical duties in the absence of support staff

Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions promptly

Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Experience
-
Minimum 2 years of MRI experience (preferred)
Required Certifications & Licensure
-
Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology
-
ARRT MRI Certification
-
BCLS Certification
