Job Description
A health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in Queens.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, Part-time (minimum 16 hours per week).
- Hours: 8am to 6pm (Two 15 min breaks and a 30 min break - paid)
- Program: Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
- Setting: Hybrid
- Patient Volume: Maximum of 4 clients a day
- EMR: AccuMED
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Assess and monitor clients' clinical health and response to treatment
- Lead the development of policies, procedures, and resource identification crucial for delivering nursing services.
- Conduct psychiatric and physical health assessments.
- Manage and administer medication in collaboration with the psychiatrist.
- Administer intramuscular injections and vaccines and perform phlebotomy as per orders.
- Provide supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proficient in working with individuals with Mental Health (MH) conditions, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), and Co-occurring disorders
- Familiarity with the Department of Human Services (DHS) procedures and regulations
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience in Shelter environments
