Job DescriptionThe porter is primarily responsible for the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of the residential facility and surrounding property.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cleans all program areas daily.
- This includes dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washes tables, walls, and appliances.; maintains cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Removes trash daily to outside trash cans, places garbage cans at curb side in accordance with sanitation schedule.
- Makes repairs to maintain the safety and security of the facility, requests vendors for repairs not within scope of work.
- Cleans all yards and walkways twice a week.
- Cleans and removes snow as needed, ensures supplies are on-hand to treat sidewalks, driveways, and entrances as needed.
- Ensures all fire exits and basements are clear of clutter and debris.
- Reports all incidents to program manager/assistant manager, including all unsafe conditions, immediately.
- Monitors all safety equipment i.e. fire extinguishers, spill kits, latex gloves, etc.
- Completes hot water checks to ensure the temperature is in the safe range.
- Completes physical plant checklists.
- Attends weekly staff meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
- At least one year of working experience.
- Good verbal communication skills are essential
- Preferred/ 2 or More Years’ experience performing Porter/Maintenance Duties
