Lornamead Products is currently seeking an R&D Lab Technician to join our team!
Lornamead Products, located in Tonawanda, NY, manufactures and supplies, hair care, skin care, oral care, and bath products in America. The company offers toothpastes, teeth whitening products and oral analgesics for drug chains, and national food retailers.
Your Challenge:
- Execute formulas (bench top work)
- Paperwork: prepare formula packages, electronic filing of data
- Create and service internal and external customer with necessary paperwork
- Chemical sample ordering and sample organization
- General lab maintenance
- Determines product specifications by identifying consumer requirements; conferring with management.
- Determine process standards by developing formulas and methods.
- Identifies chemical and physical properties of substances.
- Researches new products and processes.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Designs and conducts stability programs
- Provides Quality / Regulatory and Sourcing with support to address US and international regulation / standards and customer requirements.
- Support operation of equipment by understanding manufacturer's instructions and preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Supports evaluation of new equipment.
- Supports evaluation of new laboratory methods/techniques.
- Supports scale-up of new plant processes.
- Maintains database by writing, entering and backing up data.
- Maintains safe and clean working environments by complying with (and establishing new procedures as appropriate), procedures, rules and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering preferred. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Physics, or Biochemistry also considered.
- Laboratory research / development experience (school or work) a plus.
- Laboratory instrumentation experience a plus.
- Solid basic math skills. Statistics skills a plus.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and/or statistical software packages a plus.
