The Process Operator will work in various areas within the Processes/Operations where they have been trained and are qualified. The role involves setting up and operating processing and fabrication equipment on insulation materials, inspecting and testing in-process products, and handling materials and storage equipment. The operator will also be responsible for waste control and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate processing and fabrication equipment on insulation materials.
- Inspect and test solid insulating products to determine suitability for use and shipment.
- Handle material storage equipment and operate waste storage facility.
- Provide direction to plant operators for proper waste segregation and labeling.
- Perform duties related to non-hazardous and hazardous waste control.
- Manage inventory control of raw, semi-finished, and finished materials.
- Unload and store materials, maintaining stock records.
- Set up machines by adjusting gaps, speeds, temperatures, and tensions.
- Start equipment and synchronize speed, observing operations closely and making adjustments.
- Supply materials by weighing, mixing, and threading machines.
- Operate equipment using valves, push buttons, and levers, following cycles and observing operations.
- Unload equipment and dispose of material, identifying and recording data.
Essential Skills
- Experience in production and quality check.
- Proficiency in machine operation and chemical handling.
- Inventory control skills.
- Basic computer skills including MS Excel and MS Word.
- Forklift operation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read and execute process, safety, and operating instructions.
- Simple math calculation skills for batch card information.
- Need to obtain and maintain certifications in hazardous waste handling and opacity reading.

This is a Contract position based out of Schenectady, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.59 - $24.59/hr.
