About the Role
Join our dynamic team at a thriving student housing community in Ithaca. As aPorter, youll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for our residents. If youre dependable, detail-oriented, and take pride in your work, we want you!
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain common areas: lobbies, hallways, lounges, laundry rooms, outdoor spaces
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles, transport bulky items to disposal areas
- Assist with snow removal (seasonal), and landscaping support as needed
- Replenish supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, soap) in restrooms and shared facilities
- Report maintenance issues or hazards to the maintenance team promptly
- Set up common areas for resident events or meetings
- Assist with move-in/move-out turnovers by prepping entryways and corridors
Who You Are
- 1+ year of experience in custodial, facilities, or similar roles (hospitality, janitorial, property)
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness
- Dependable, punctual, and professional in interactions
- Comfortable operating cleaning equipment and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Flexible availabilityincluding early mornings, evenings, and weekends when needed
- Team player with a positive, resident-focused attitude
