Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A travel opportunity is available for an on-site Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Ithaca, NY, supporting students in a school setting. This role requires immediate availability and specializes in providing therapy to complex cases involving significant communication challenges.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to two high school students with complex needs
- Collaborate with paraeducators and school staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Utilize expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies for a non-speaking student with cerebral palsy
- Support a non-verbal student diagnosed with autism through tailored communication interventions
- Potentially provide services to middle school students at a nearby location
Qualifications:
- Current Speech-Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Valid New York State teaching certification for SLPs necessary
- Proven experience working with students who have cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, and AAC needs in a school environment
- Ability to manage a caseload with attention to individualized student needs and collaboration with educational teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills to support complex cases
Location: Ithaca, NY - travel assignment within the school system
