Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Counsel to join our legal team in a remote capacity. This role supports the entire contract lifecycle for a dynamic and mission-driven health services organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in healthcare and IT-related contracts and must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
This is a highly collaborative and engaging role, requiring close partnership with cross-functional teams and senior-level stakeholders across the organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional presentation, problem-solving, writing, and interpersonal skills, along with keen attention to detail.
Job Title: HealthcareProcurement Counsel
Office Location: New York, NY (Remote)
Schedule: Mon-Fri; 40 hours per week
Duration: 6+ months(w/ potential to extend)
Pay Rate: $60+/ Hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Oversight: Provide strategic legal counsel on procurement matters, including contracts, vendor agreements, and supply chain operations.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including FDA, HIPAA, CMS, and NYC procurement laws.
- Contract Management: drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex procurement contracts.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify legal risks in procurement processes and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as IT, pharmacy, medical devices, and finance to align legal strategies with operational goals.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
· Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
· Active license to practice law in New York State (required).
· 3–7 years of relevant experience in commercial contracts, preferably within the healthcare or health IT sectors.
· Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks and data privacy laws.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, and stakeholder-facing environment.
· Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
· Deep understanding of public sector procurement regulations.
· Ability to lead and mentor legal teams.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Experience:
· Familiarity with healthcare provider or payer environments.
· Experience with SaaS and cloud-based technology agreements.
· Knowledge of value-based care models and healthcare reimbursement structures.
