This part-time opportunity supports a K-12 special needs program serving students from kindergarten through age 21 in New Windsor, NY. The role is ideal for professionals passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. The position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with an emphasis on two days per week availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and individualized support to students with special needs
- Assist with daily classroom activities and instructional plans tailored to each student
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
- Implement behavior management strategies and promote social development
- Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress effectively
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with special needs students across various age groups, ideally K-12
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with patience and adaptability
- Ability to work part-time with flexibility to meet the clients schedule preferences
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional methods is a plus
- Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students, families, and staff
