Exercise Physiologist is needed to perform the following duties:
● Analyzing a patient’s medical history to assess any potential risk exercise may pose. to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, relieve pain in the observation of the Physical therapist.● Monitoring and document patients vital signs,such as heart rate, blood pressure, heart rhythms and oxygen levels to verify patient’s health and progress during the therapy on daily basis and notify supervising Physical Therapist.● Determine patents strengths and limitations and the most appropriate starting point for a new program at various stages and perform treatments to achieve maximum benefit accordingly.● Performing patient's fitness tests,motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, with special attention to cardiovascular function and metabolism nd record data.
● Follow physician's referral and study patient's medical records to plan furrher treatment required and update or notify it to supervising Physical Therapist and other rehab team members● Document patients' informed consent to proposed interventions.● Provide physical therapy treatments by giving massages, manual therapy, strengthening and stretching exercise, applying physical agents like moist packs, TENS, electric stimulation, and ultrasound machines; in the observation of the Physical therapist.● Develop individualised exercise prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart to increase physical fitness,strength,endurance and flexibility or enter information into computer.
● Work as a team member and Notify the Supervising Physical Therapistabout the progressive grading exercise regimen and patients progress and to Inform other team members to refer to appropriate practitioners when diagnosis reveals findings outside physical therapy scope of practice.
● Inform the patient’s projected goal to the supervising physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained during discharge.● Teaching and preparing the patient and family about how to exercise safely and healthy in-home and advising exercises before discharge from physical therapy● Maintains patient confidentiality by maintaining and protecting their medical record.Bachelor's Degree is required in Physical Therapy or Exercise Physiology or Physiotherapy or Exercise Science.
