Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for helping manage field operations on the project assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The Assistant Superintendent directly supervises field labor force, including laborers/craft workers. Candidate must be driven, detail-oriented and customer service-oriented. This position is located in Suffolk County, NY.
Job Specifications
- Direct, coordinate, and facilitate meetings for subcontractors, architects, and local authorities
- Actively assist in management of subcontractors, schedule, budget, and timeline on federal contract jobs
- Enforce all OSHA safety rules, Kokolakis Corporate Safety Plan and Job Specific Safety Plan
- Prepare & distribute focus schedules
- Assist project management staff with weekly progress updates for the CPM schedule
- Coordinate all required inspections (municipal, material, etc.)
- Prepare & distribute detailed Daily Construction Reports (DCRs)
- Host weekly subcontractor coordination meetings & provide detailed meeting minutes
- Hold start-up meetings with subcontractors to review scope of work, schedule & safety requirements
- Support logistics planning
- Manage QA / QC program, including inspecting & approving the work product
- Coordinate with third-party testing agencies and special inspectors
- Seek opportunities to enhance project efficiency
- Manage efficient & timely project close-out including punch list completion
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in construction preferred
- Must have experience working on phased, occupied renovation projects
- Must be willing to supervise night shifts
- Current safety credentials to include OSHA-30
- Knowledge of Procore software is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge in construction methods, practices, schedules, logistics, and budgets
- Professional demeanor in person, online, and via phone with excellent verbal and written communication skills
