Position Summary

Northside Charter High School seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop strong mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills through engaging lessons and collaborative activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in mathematics, which may include Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics, depending on expertise.

  • Student Engagement: Foster a classroom culture that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a growth mindset in mathematics.

  • Skill Development: Help students build foundational math skills and apply mathematical concepts to solve real-world problems.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

  • Differentiation: Adapt instruction to accommodate various learning levels and styles, ensuring all students are supported and challenged.

  • Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, respectful, and positive learning environment.

  • Collaboration: Work with colleagues to align curriculum, share resources, and participate in professional learning communities.

  • Parent Communication: Maintain open and proactive communication with parents and guardians about student progress and classroom activities.

  • Professional Growth: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mathematics instruction and pedagogy.

  • School Community: Participate in school events, committees, and initiatives to contribute to the broader school culture.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification for secondary mathematics (or ability to obtain certification before the start date).

  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and effective teaching practices.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

  • Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) math courses or dual-credit courses.

  • Familiarity with integrating technology into mathematics instruction.
