Overview: The Trainer is responsible for coordinating and facilitating training programs including, but not limited to, orientation, new hire training, contact center, and technical systems training. This role partners to reach overall department and organizational goals, assisting with course creation, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of training information.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual classes on leadership development in addition to orientation, technical skills and other training as assigned, utilizing various methods and modalities.
  • Organize and deliver formal role-based training.
  • Prepare materials for training sessions, coordinate scheduling, send reminders, create rosters, and maintain attendance records.
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
  • Assist in course development for various projects and programs.
  • Partner with department SMEs to ensure training is accurate and aligns with needs.
  • Develop learning aids such as PowerPoint presentations, manuals, job aids, and tutorials.
  • Ensure orientation and formal training information is current at all times, proactively updating material and seeking feedback.
  • Implement testing methods to assess learner performance.
  • Develop and distribute training evaluations to appropriate recipients.
  • Design, maintain, and distribute training surveys, adhering to the survey timeline.
  • Communicate feedback, trends, recommendations, and challenges to the L&D Team.
  • Ensure training platforms are set up and prepared for learners prior to a training event.
  • Manage the Learning & Development shared inbox.
  • Manage the Learning & Development ticket queue.
  • Coach and mentor learners to achieve goals.
  • Perform assessments of learner understanding and retention
  • Maintain training materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct department and branch visits to bring training on-site to different locations.
  • Collaborate with the training team and stakeholders to analyze needs and support training initiatives.
  • Make recommendations for training needs and process improvements
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three years of frontline financial services experience required.
  • Training facilitation experience required.
  • Credit Union experience preferred.
  • Experience using MCU core system and ancillary applications preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Excel.
  • Experience with learning development tools such as Articulate/Storyline and Vyond
  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to travel within NYC.
  • Highly ethical.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Technologically proficient.
