Summary for Attorney Talent & Transitions Manager:
A prestigious AM Law 100 firm is seeking an Attorney Talent & Transitions Manager to join its collaborative, high-performing Legal Talent team. This is a highly visible role with significant exposure to firm leadership, offering the opportunity to work with autonomy in a supportive environment known for its exceptional culture and clear vision for the future. The Manager will oversee policies, processes, and logistics related to attorney status changes, including transfers, leaves, secondments, promotions, and departures. This role is ideal for a confident, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced law firm environment and enjoys building strong relationships across departments.
Responsibilities for Attorney Talent & Transitions Manager:
- Serve as primary contact for attorney transfers across multiple offices, including international locations.
- Oversee communication and tracking related to attorney status changes.
- Coordinate with Benefits on disability leave applications.
- Partner with leadership on client and peer-firm secondments.
- Manage the part-time program for legal staff.
- Oversee promotions and departure processes for attorneys and legal staff.
- Collaborate on the Foreign Associate Program, including visa needs.
- Lead and develop team members, ensuring efficient workflows and professional growth.
- Oversee attorney onboarding, ensuring a smooth integration into the firm.
Qualifications for Attorney Talent & Transitions Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years in legal talent, attorney development, or related field required
- Proven experience managing a team in a professional services or legal environment required
- Prior law firm experience with regular, daily interaction with attorneys required
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partner effectively with attorneys at all levels.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and judgment skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn and adapt to internal talent systems.
- Skilled at problem solving and managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Discreet in handling confidential information.
