Summary:
Under supervision of the Assistant Director of the Senior Services program, coordinate all educational and recreational activities of older adult center network. Oversight of all funded and non- funded services provided to older adult participants.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Maintains proper oversight of the stocking and re-stocking of supplies for program.
- Coordinates the planning of activities both virtual and on-site such as:
- Arts and Culture
- Education and Recreation
- Health Promotion
- Physical Health & Exercise
- Nutrition Education
- Technology
- Manages a robust Evidence -Based program for Health and Wellness activities
- Prepares monthly activity calendars with diverse activities that encompass all contractual units of service.
- Maintains and complies with the standards set by Department for the Aging (DFTA) and Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) including, city, state, federal governing guidelines.
- Ensures senior safety as required by Fire Department of New York (FDNY).
- Training of volunteers and staff of activities services program.
- Supervise all Activities Specialists with their duties.
- Reports potential unsafe conditions to the Assistant Director and/or Director in a timely manner.
- Assures the accurate and up-to-date required documents of records are kept in a neat and organized manner. Weekly observance of STARS data for accuracy.
- Meets all deadlines of the assigned duties:
- Monthly Activities Calendar
- Monthly Units of Service data report
- Monthly Activities program report
- Maintains and ensure that all unit targets and goals are met by staff.
- Submits all activity sheets documentation to Data Specialist daily.
- Plans and coordinates recreational, social, educational, and health activities with staff.
- Maintains an accurate list of support linkage groups.
- Oversees that older adults are referred to In-Home services if needed.
- Manages all activities staff and programming across the Elmcor Network.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner for program.
- Develops alternative solutions with the Assistant Director or Director.
Qualifications:
- Must receive/obtain a Food Protection License from the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, and receive a copy of their State guidelines. These guidelines must be followed at all times.
- Must receive/obtain First Aid, CPR, AED training.
- Must receive/obtain Certificate of Gerontology
- Must have valid Driver’s License
- Must have a High School Diploma with 5+ years’ experience in senior services or related field in a managerial capacity
