Job Summary:
The R&D CNC Machinist is responsible for producing complex aerospace components in an AS9100-certified facility. The role involves setting up and operating CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) to create prototypes and parts that meet strict aerospace quality standards (AS9100). Precision, strong technical skills, and collaboration with Engineers and QA teams are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machining: Set up, operate, and program CNC machines for precision aerospace part fabrication.
- Prototyping: Support R&D efforts by machining prototypes and collaborating with Engineers on design for manufacturability.
- Tooling: Fabricate tooling to support R&D testing and production assembly fixturing.
- Quality & Compliance: Adhere strictly to AS9100 procedures, ensuring traceability and documentation of machining processes.
- Inspection: Perform detailed inspections using precision tools to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and specifications.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve machining issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure machine efficiency.
- Safety: Follow all safety protocols and regulations for a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be U.S. Citizen.
- High school diploma, GED, vocational training, or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven experience in a precision CNC machining role in an R&D and prototyping environment.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with CNC controls and CAD/CAM software. Intermediate knowledge of Mastercam and Solidworks. Proficiency in HAAS Controllers is a plus.
- Experience working within an AS9100 quality environment preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (hourly)
Salary Range: $27 to $38 per hour
This estimated range represents a good faith projection of what we believe is a competitive compensation range for this position.
