Job Title: RN Med Surg/Tele
Location: Rochester, NY 14626
Shift: Day Shift 3x12 hr schedule (07:00 - 19:00)
Travel Pay: 2,173 Weekly
Local Pay: 1,759.5 Weekly
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (Med Surg / Tele) provides direct patient care to a diverse adult patient population, including cardiac and stroke patients. The RN is responsible for monitoring patient conditions, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Requirements
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of Med Surg / Tele experience
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
- Certifications: BLS required
- On-Call Requirement: None
- Pending License: Not accepted
Floating Requirements
- Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Possible float units include:
- Med Surg
- ICU
- Emergency Department
Special Skills & Competencies
- Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Participation in Rapid Response Teams
- Peripheral IV line care and management
- Oxygen therapy administration, including:
- Nasal cannula
- Oxygen face masks
- Portable oxygen tanks
- Non-invasive airway management
- Adherence to isolation precautions
Patient Population
- Cardiac patients
- Stroke patients
Equipment & Technology
- Special Equipment: Hoyer lifts
- Charting System: Epic (preferred)
