Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Department: Clinic

Position type: Full Time 37.5 Hours

FLSA: Non-Exempt


Job Summary:

as the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role on the clinical care team, providing high-quality support in an outpatient setting. The LPN is responsible for performing clinical duties, assisting in examinations and treatments, administering medications, and reinforcing patient education. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist providers in delivering patient care.
  • Explain procedures and treatment to patients.
  • Aid providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Observe patients and report reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and nursing interventions within the scope of practice.
  • Reinforce patient education related to medication, self-care, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
  • Room patients, collect vital signs, samples, and perform diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms.
  • Accurately document all care provided in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Follow all clinic procedures and standards for professionalism and communication.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Proficient organizational and time management abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Current NYS LPN Licensure required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Experience in community0based or outpatient healthcare preferred.
  • Previous experience working in internal medicine, pediatrics, or gynecology is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems required; EPIC experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee may occasionally need to stoop, bend, and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
