Salary: $160,000 - $185,000 per year
A bit about us:
We are seeking a senior litigation attorney with 5-8+ years of experience who can independently manage complex commercial matters with minimal supervision.
Our litigation department handles sophisticated, high-stakes cases including multi-million-dollar commercial disputes, real estate litigation, construction matters, and land use work. Recent cases include a $150 million federal dispute and multiple high-value construction and commercial matters. We offer big law-caliber work at approximately 1,800 billable hours annually.
With many trials scheduled in the next six months, we need an attorney who can immediately contribute to significant matters, including taking depositions, arguing motions, and handling complex litigation independently.
You'll report directly to the head of the litigation department with a clear partnership track for attorneys who demonstrate strong litigation skills and business development capabilities over time. Job Details
Qualifications
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar
5-8+ years of substantial litigation experience
Big law or similarly sophisticated firm background strongly preferred
Demonstrated trial experience and courtroom proficiency
Proven ability to independently manage complex commercial litigation matters from start to finish
Extensive e-discovery experience, including platform expertise and large-scale document management
Experience with real estate disputes strongly preferred
Strong motion writing background, including successful dispositive motions
Substantial deposition experience, both taking and defending
Court appearance experience in state and federal court, including motion arguments and substantive hearings
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities
Superior organizational skills with ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Leadership capabilities for mentoring junior attorneys
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Verifiable professional references
Must be a Long Island resident or willing to relocate - this is a full-time, on-site position and lengthy commutes have proven unsustainable for prior candidates
