Healing Hands Incorporated is New York’s culturally specific service provider and advocate for Black survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking. Healing Hands works to end gender violence through three key areas: direct service; outreach, education, and training; and advocacy. Healing Hands is currently looking for Clinical Case Manager interns.
Qualifications: This role involves a range of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day activities, including managing schedules, coordinating events, handling communications, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. This position is open to candidates seeking to assist survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and commercial sexual exploitation. Applicants should possess strong interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills and have a commitment to social justice. Experience or interest in working directly with survivors of gender violence is a strong asset. Proficiency in a foreign language, is helpful, but not required. We are looking for a commitment of 25 hours Minimum per week for a period of six months (not less). The start and end dates are flexible, and we can accommodate vacation time. Intern hours will be scheduled between Monday - Friday with flexibility around the exact weekdays and hours, excluding one mandatory meeting on Monday from 9:00am - 10:00am.
Under supervision the responsibilities include:
o Intakes
Complete Healing Hands intakes and determine clients’ need for services.
o Administrative Support
Prepare and edit correspondences, communications presentations and other documents. Manage clients’ appointments…
o Case Management
Provide direct services to a caseload of approximately 5 clients, conduct psychosocial evaluations (under supervision)
o Professional and Educational Development
Attend trainings and webinars on sexual assault, participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, provide trainings.
o Support Groups
Assist in coordinating and co-facilitating support groups with internal and outside facilitators.
o Outreach
Work alongside the Program Director to plan and coordinate events and trainings in the community.
o Policy and Legislative Advocacy
Attending anti-trafficking coalition meetings and participating in legislative advocacy campaigns.
This internship is unpaid; however, we can work with students who seek to obtain school credit or outside funding.
