Direct Counsel is representing an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a junior associate attorney to join its Finance and Bankruptcy Practice Group in New York City.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a nationally respected bankruptcy team that handles high-stakes financial restructurings and complex creditor’s rights litigation. The team advises on both U.S. and cross-border matters and collaborates across practice groups including commercial finance, real estate, tax, labor, and corporate law to solve multifaceted insolvency issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in bankruptcy-related litigation and financial restructuring matters

• Draft motions, including summary judgment, motions to dismiss, and complex discovery motions

• Participate in depositions, motion practice, and trials

• Advise on secured transactions and commercial disputes

• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines with precision

• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups in a team-oriented office environment

Required Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in commercial and bankruptcy-related litigation

• Demonstrated interest in or exposure to bankruptcy practice

• Proficiency in legal research, oral advocacy, and written communication

• Strong understanding of secured transactions law

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative in-office environment

Education and Admission:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

• Admitted to the New York State Bar

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $235,000 – $260,000 per year. Please note this range reflects a good-faith estimate associated with this specific role and complies with the New York City Salary Transparency Law. Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
